The people walking in darkness have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.
You have enlarged the nation and increased their joy;
they rejoice before you as people rejoice at the harvest …
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end.
As we enter the Advent season, celebrating the birth of Jesus, we are also anxiously awaiting the return of Jesus, more than ever. In the midst of continued conflict in South Sudan, we are reminded to find our hope in God and that He promises to be our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and the Prince of Peace.
Will you join us through the month of December and pray for…
DISCERNMENT : After Joel’s most recent trip to Uganda, we feel hopeful and excited about our future work, continuing to serve our South Sudanese clients, wherever they may be. Will you pray with us that God would continue to offer clarity and discernment as we navigate building new savings groups programs in South Sudan and Uganda?
PEACE : We are praying and asking boldly this month for the peace of Christ to rule in the hearts of our entire staff, in South Sudan and the US – We are resting in the name of God as Prince of Peace – Jehovah Shalom.
GRATITUDE : As the year closes, we are praying that a spirit of thankfulness and gratitude would mark us. We have been blessed this year and God has proven himself to be faithful and near. We thank God for bringing us to the end of the year and pray that we end successfully.
HOPE : For all of our Seed Effect clients : loan + savings group members. That they would find hope in the midst of a continually difficult economy and remember that God is near.
PRAISE : Joel’s trip to Uganda was safe + successful and we are looking forward to sharing more detail on his trip very soon!
Thank you for partnering alongside us in prayer this month and Merry Christmas!
