Joel Cox, Director of Programs

Joel Cox joined Seed Effect in February 2016 as its Director of Programs. Joel learned about Seed Effect in 2011 while on a church planting mission trip in Sudan and immediately connected with the mission of the organization. Today, he is our data guru, and a huge reason we have as robust analysis as we do. Every stat you see that shows Seed Effect’s impact and that “it’s working” is thanks to Joel.

Prior to joining Seed Effect, Joel worked at BNSF Railway in Fort Worth, TX for 8 years in various roles including strategic studies, pricing, business analysis, and sales. In those roles he gained experience in economic analysis on major capital projects, developing and reporting business metrics, designing pricing structures to incent business, managing customer relationships, and negotiating contracts. Prior to BNSF, Joel worked in accounting policy and budgets roles at ConocoPhillips in Houston, TX for 2 years.

Joel is active in his church, Trinity Chapel Bible Church in Fort Worth, where he has served as deacon and elder. In addition, Joel enjoys serving on the board of the Underground Coffee International non-profit which uses coffee growing as a platform for sharing the gospel in Southeast Asia. Joel received his BBA in both Accounting and Finance and his Masters in Accounting from the University of Oklahoma where he was named to the Letzeiser Honor List recognizing the top 26 graduates of the university in academics, service, and leadership.

Joel is married to Andrea Cox who works as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing working with students and infants with hearing loss and their families.
