Ashley Godsil, Director of Development

Ashley Godsil is humbled to serve as the Development Director for Seed Effect. A trusted advisor and forward-thinking leader, she leverages a deep understanding of nonprofit operations to build transformative, sustainable programs.

Ashley believes that people are the catalyst for change, and as a servant-leader, she makes it her mission to provide a clear vision and strategy to facilitate positive change. Great planning, strong attention to detail, and cross-departmental collaboration and transparency enable her to translate industry challenges into compelling, people-focused narratives. Creative by nature, Ashley thrives when identifying appropriate resources to accomplish strategic visions and has consistently turned limited resources into miracles, all while significantly growing company revenue and engagement.

After earning her degree from Arizona State University, Ashely began her professional career working as a Public Relations Director for an Arizona-based gastroenterology office, before taking the leap into nonprofit as a Community Relationship Manager with American Cancer Society (ACS). In 2013, Ashley was promoted to the Senior Manager of Community Development for ACS where she championed the organization’s first-ever “Prison Relay,” enabling local inmates to manage and market their own fundraising efforts on behalf of the organization’s “Relay for Life,” program. In 2017, Ashley followed a calling to join the American Heart Association (AHA), where she served as the Development Director of Youth Markets and Go Red for Women, before joining Healthy LifeStars, a youth-focused, health and wellness nonprofit, as a National Development Director in 2020.

Outside of work, Ashley serves as a Chair member of a local Arizona chapter of American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, and often volunteers to serve those in need by participating in food programs such as Feed My Starving Children. When not working, Ashley is blessed to spend time in sunny Arizona with her husband, Brian, and their son, Nolan. Together they enjoy reading, cooking and traveling near and far to spend time with family and friends.

We’re bringing hope and opportunity to the hardest places.
