Concy is a 27 year old mother of three.

After being forced to flee her home in South Sudan, Concy now lives in a refugee settlement in Uganda where she joined “Opi-Okenwi” Seed Effect Savings & Loan Group just three years ago.

“When the COVID-19 pandemic came here almost everything was locked down. Even my family was torn apart as my husband was on lock-down in South Sudan. Life became very hard; children were getting sick very frequently, food rations were reduced by the UNHCR and my farm land was badly flooded—spoiling everything in the farm. My family depends on this food.”

They gave me money from the emergency fund for buying medicine when my child was very ill. They also encouraged me to only focus on and believe in God always.

Without Seed Effect, I would not have made it.
