Nancy and family of ‘Hope 2’ Seed Effect Savings & Loan Group in Uganda

Together, since launching in Uganda in 2017, we’ve served over 106,332 Seed Effect members who care for over 600,000 children.

Like many of our members, Nancy is a South Sudanese refugee. When she first arrived in Uganda, she faced overwhelming challenges.

“When we arrived as refugees, life was not easy. Sometimes, we would only eat once or twice a day, and I was not able to afford school fees for my children.”

But thanks to your support, Nancy was given the opportunity to change this trajectory, and, after just one year, she is able to provide for her family with dignity. She shared:

“Now my family eats three times a day, and I can pay school fees. I was able to build a semi-permanent house instead of just sleeping in a tent.”

Nancy’s journey from scarcity to stability is a powerful testament to what’s possible as we equip Seed Effect members with the spiritual and financial tools, training, and support necessary to provide for their families and dream for a better future.

“My dream is to continue to grow my business, purchase more livestock, rent more land for cultivation, build a nicer house with an iron roof, and ensure continued ease in sending my kids to school.”

Our year-end goal is to raise $200,000 to empower 2,200 more families like Nancy’s.

When you give by Dec. 31st your gift will be matched up to $100,000. Your gift of $90 can empower two new members (like Nancy!) and $2,250 can empower two Seed Effect groups (that’s up to 50 members!)
