About Seed Effect Uganda
It’s a Christ-centered, non-profit Economic and Spiritual development organization registered in Uganda under the National Non-Governmental Organization Bureau. Our mission is to plant the seeds that overcome poverty by providing access to economic empowerment, education, and spiritual discipleship among marginalized communities in Uganda and beyond.

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Systems Administrator will maintain the essential IT infrastructure of Seed Effect Uganda, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware. He or she will also take responsibility for managing and optimizing the Organization’s Sales Force and other operating systems within the larger program initiative of Seed Effect Uganda, including user and license management, support, training, and system upgrades ensuring effective utilization of Salesforce tools, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and the Seed Effect US team to meet organizational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform server administration tasks (ex: user/group, security permissions, group policies, print services); research event-log warnings and errors; and monitor resources to ensure that systems architecture components work together seamlessly

  • Monitor data-center health using existing management tools, and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers when needed

  • Maintain internal infrastructure requirements, including laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, and security updates; support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments

  • Assist the help desk and other teams with troubleshooting to identify root causes, and provide technical support when needed

  • Perform routine and scheduled audits of all systems, including backups.

  • Ensuring optimal performance of Salesforce systems and products. Upgrading and configuring Salesforce systems for optimized integration, managing Salesforce roles, profiles, sharing rules, workflows, and groups

  • Oversee all aspects of user and license management, including new user setup/deactivation, roles, profiles, permissions, and public groups

  • Support team members and monitor user adoption of Salesforce tools in our organization, and provide ongoing user training, and create training materials as needed

Qualifications, Technical Skills, Experience & Knowledge:

ESSENTIAL

  • Personal confession of faith in Jesus Christ and a passionate commitment to Seed Effect’s mission to serve as a holistic tool to live out the Great Commission alongside the Great Commandment as we empower the poor to know and follow Christ, plug into the local church, and overcome physical poverty.

  • Ability to demonstrate servant leadership skills.

  • Experience with or knowledge of programming languages and operating systems, current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, systems performance-monitoring tools, active directories, virtualization, HTTP traffic, content delivery, and coaching

  • Experience in project management, application design and integration, and cloud computing (specifically Google Drive)

  • Expertise in analyzing and repairing large-scale distributed systems; creating volumes and assigning them to servers; and remote replication

  • Proven work experience as a Salesforce and TaroWorks systems Administrator or similar role.

  • Salesforce certified administrator or Salesforce advanced administrator certification

  • Extensive experience in the administration and maintenance of Salesforce systems

  • Experience in performing Salesforce upgrades and ensuring successful integration

  • Exceptional ability to create and maintain Salesforce databases

  • In-depth knowledge of Salesforce products and their functionalities

Preferred Skills, Qualifications, and Personal Specifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or computer engineering or related fields of study.

  • A post-graduate qualification in M&E, Project Planning, or related field will be an added advantage.

  • Professional certification including a Salesforce Administrator certificate.

  • At least 3 years of proven experience in a Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, or Desktop Support role.

  • knowledge of operating systems and networking platforms, understanding of system security and data recovery

  • Knowledge of networking and databases, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Resourcefulness and ability to work in a demanding work environment.

  • Ability to travel to all field locations of Seed Effect Uganda at least once every quarter.
