It felt terrible leaving South Sudan. My children and I had to flee because of the fighting and walked to the refugee settlement. Before I joined the Seed Effect savings group, I was leading a miserable life. But after I joined, the group changed my life. I experienced much trauma in South Sudan that I am now starting to release. I am a bit freer because of the consolation that I get from the group. I am very happy right now because the money that we have contributed is able to help us save and now we can get a loan and we will earn more when we share out the money. It is helping us a lot. At first I was having problems but now my problems have almost been solved because of Seed Effect. Now I have hope.

We met back up with Rebekah to hear how the Savings Group has made a difference in her life. 

“Because of my Seed Effect Savings & Loan Group, I was able to save money which gave me access to small loans. I used these loans for my business and to pay school fees. My business has grown now compared to last year and it is now becoming steadier. This group has increased my knowledge of God as I learned about the teaching and guidance of the Holy Spirit. And I received comfort from life’s burdens. I feel loved by my group members.

 

My favorite things about my group are the encouragement in the Word of God and sharing my problems to the group members who listen and help me. I am growing spiritually.”
