Born with a disability, Silas has struggled. His brother is an alcoholic and his three sisters are married, so when his parents passed away he found himself homeless with no one to take care of him. But, through the generosity of one of his sisters, God provided a wheelchair. And then, his life began to change.
At 23 years old, he started a small retail business with some money he had borrowed. But what he earned was never enough. Once he joined Seed Effect, however, he was able to increase his inventory and his sales, and earn a larger profit. But life has still been challenging. Silas is currently working hard to earn enough money to repair his wheelchair – a tool that has empowered him to reach the market and transport his inventory efficiently. But even though he still struggles because of his disability, he has hope. Through the education and discipleship programs, he learned to trust God and follow Him. “I thank Seed Effect so much for lifting me this higher, both in my faith in Christ and my business; I feel better than I was”.
