Promoting Dignity in Storytelling | Seed Effect x era92

One of our four core beliefs is that people living in poverty are capable. With the right tools, the opportunity to work, and the support of Christ-centered community, people living in material poverty can and want to provide for their families with dignity.

We also have four core values, one of which is to promote dignity always. As image-bearers, every human contributes the unique gifts, talents, and abilities entrusted to them. At Seed Effect, we intentionally recognize and celebrate these gifts and strengths in others. From how we support, train, and empower our members to how we share their stories, we always seek to promote their dignity.

We’re thrilled to have found an incredible, locally based story-telling partner in era92. This organization prioritizes these same beliefs and values in its approach. Together, we are promoting dignity.

era92 is a Ugandan social enterprise that fuses design, art, and technology to train, employ, and empower young people from Africa’s slums, helping them transform their futures. era92 shared,

While NGOs, governments, and businesses often see these individuals as burdens or risks, we view them as worthwhile clients, valuable employees, and ambitious entrepreneurs. Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty by empowering youth in slums and refugee settlements through innovative, sustainable solutions.”

Emmanuel Trinity, founder & CEO of era92, was born in Kosovo, one of Uganda’s toughest slums. His vision and dream of empowering other young people through financial access, training, and employment opportunities led to the creation of era92 over 15 years ago. Like Seed Effect, era92 believes in faith-based empowerment, education, and overcoming poverty in underserved and marginalized communities. And, through a powerful collaboration with Seed Effect, era92’s passionate and talented team, who have themselves escaped poverty, are, in turn, amplifying the voices of our members who have faced immense hardship.

At our recent All Staff Summit, era92’s creative team led a breakout session on storytelling, teaching our staff how to capture and share stories in a way that honors dignity and beauty. As they explained the workings of a camera, they drew a powerful parallel: just as a camera lens captures and reframes the world reflecting God’s creativity, so too our own eyes reveal the beauty of His creation. We are deeply grateful for how era92’s work preserves and amplifies the dignity of our members and their families—capturing moments of hope, restoration, and transformation. It is an honor to celebrate and partner with an organization that is also redefining futures, investing in hard places, and restoring hope.
