We’re bringing Christ-centered economic empowerment to the hard places.

At Seed Effect, our mission is to plant the seeds that overcome poverty by providing access to economic empowerment, education, and spiritual discipleship in Uganda and South Sudan’s most marginalized communities.

Our Vision

Our vision is to see the world’s most insecure and under-served communities stabilized through economic empowerment and the hope of Jesus Christ.

Core Beliefs

People living in poverty are capable.

We believe that with the right tools, the opportunity to work, and the support of Christ-centered community, people living in material poverty can and want to provide for their families with dignity.

Restored relationships bring transformation.

We believe broken relationships are the root of poverty and so, introducing people to Jesus is essential for true transformation and restoration.

The hard places are worth investing in.

We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to know Jesus and provide for their family with dignity. Seed Effect is committed to serve in the hard places where others aren’t.

How we help truly matters.

We believe sustainable solutions with effective tools are the best approach to promote life-giving opportunities that bring hope and empowerment to people living in material poverty.

We are praying very hard that God would grow Seed Effect and give them more as this continues to increase our power.”

Our Values

Promote dignity, always.

As image-bearers we contribute the unique gifts, talents, and abilities entrusted to us, and look for opportunities to bring this out in others.

Rise up to the challenge.

We are trailblazers, roadblock removers, risk-takers, and paradigm shifters. Where others stop, we find opportunities to move forward.

Embrace opportunities to adapt.

Working in hard places means the only constants are Jesus and change. This means we embrace factors outside of our control, ready to pivot and reevaluate our approach as ever-changing environments demand.

Do more with less.

The way we invest our resources matters. We use the time, talents, and finances entrusted to us where we can achieve the most impact while promoting sustainability in our operations

Leadership

Our stateside team partners with local leaders to promote long-term, sustainable community transformation. This approach empowers our Indigenous team to love and serve their community as neighbors and enhances the reach of the local church.

“Before we joined this Seed Effect group, everyone was minding their own business. Then we came together, and we have become an example. The community can now see how we, from different tribes, are working together and doing things together.

The group is attracting the community. Economically, the group members are in a different situation financially, they have a way to earn money, and people in the community are seeing that this is a good thing.”
