A Bittersweet Announcment 💚

It is with a mixture of great sadness and yet great excitement as we share with you that our beloved, Denny Slaton, is stepping back from formally working on Seed Effect's staff at the end of September.

In true Denny fashion, she wrote a note of thanks to the Seed Effect Community that is shared below:

Dear Friends of Seed Effect,

 

God has been showing me that it is time for me to dig my roots in deeper here in Chattanooga, so I have decided to leave Seed Effect at the end of September, so I can be more present here.  While this transition is definitely bittersweet, I am excited about the future and what God has for me in Chattanooga.  But you can be sure that I will really miss being a part of the Seed Effect family.

 

My heart is full, as I think back over the years that I’ve had the joy of working with Seed Effect!  What a delight it has been to work with each of you as the work of Seed Effect has grown over the last 11 years!  I have loved being a part of this incredible ministry that had already started empowering women.  You can be certain that I will continue to tell others about this incredible ministry that God is using in big ways!  In fact, I’ll continue to be a Greenhouse giver in support of Seed Effect, even as I leave.

 

I had the amazing privilege of being in Uganda recently, and was able to say good-bye to our wonderful staff, many of whom I’ve known since I started with Seed Effect in 2012.  As much as I have loved this work, I believe it is time to say goodbye.  I will step down at the end of September.

 

I want to thank you all for the ways you have made my job so enjoyable—the friendships that have been built, the fun memories that we have made, as we have traveled to Africa together, or enjoyed time together at Happy Hours and Luncheons!  It has truly been an incredible blessing for me, to get to know each of you, and be a small part of your lives, as you have worked along side us, inviting friends to our events, or choosing to be a supporter of Seed Effect, to help build this work to empower others!

 

Thanks again for the years of impact you have made possible, for us to serve the wonderful people of South Sudan and Uganda.  I’ve been honored to be a part of this work, and will pray for God’s continued blessings over it all!!
