Entrepreneurs receive their loans alongside a group of other Seed Effect clients in their marketplace with whom they meet regularly to provide each other with emotional and spiritual support and encouragement. Rose Kiden had just begun receiving loans from Seed Effect when her house caught fire and began burning to the ground. The first people to arrive at the scene were the Seed Effect staff and members of her group. Even after her house burned down, they supported her emotionally and financially. Though she lost much in the fire, Rose found a way to rebuild her home and continue running her business. When asked to describe herself in one word, she says, “Strong! When everything got burned, I did not cry but prayed. When the house burned, I was strong.”
